Lucy's 1st Birthday

We celebrated her birthday today and last Sunday when we had family in town.  I think a first birthday is so fun you might as well do it twice :)

Lucy wasn't a big fan of the cake.

She loved her balloon, the perfect present for a one year old.

 Look closely and you can see that her first tooth has started to show itself when she smiles.

Even though she looks more excited for birthday cake this time around, I assure you it was the same.  Not that interested in it.

Singing Happy Birthday to Lucy - you might want to turn down the volume, I'm not the best singer.  Also, I frosted the cake while it was still warm, you can see all the frosting sliding off the sides.


Here is the best video I could get of Lucy walking.  In the last day or so she has started to prefer walking over crawling.  She took her first steps at about 10 1/2 months, and since then has just been slowly developing her confidence.


Happy Birthday, Lucy.  We love you and think you are the greatest little girl.  You fit perfectly into our family.  We look forward to celebrating many more of your birthdays!

Guess who came to lunch?

My mother-in-law and sister-in-law flew into Denver on Wednesday and stayed until Sunday.  Lucy and Clara are already so fun together.  We went shopping at an old vintage/ antique place called The Barn; it's very cool.  We went to the American Girl Doll store.  Probably my favorite thing we did was get Dairy Queen and watch Steel Magnolias.  Is there any woman who doesn't love that movie?  We loved having them come visit for a few days.  

 Harrison ADORES his Aunt Season.  It was so sweet watching him want to spend time with her.

On Saturday we went to the zoo while the weather was nice.  It's been raining a lot lately.

The Museum

Harrison brought his binoculars to the museum to get a better look at things.

Lucy loves to hold hands with her big brother and big sister.

 We got to see the Pirate exhibit.  It was really fascinating.  The kids love Pirates, so they enjoyed it as well.

Las Vegas

My cousin, Shane, just got married and we drove out to Las Vegas for the occasion.  It was fun to get together with my family.  I really wish we lived closer, it was nice getting to spend a little bit of time with them.

 Tag and I signed up to listen to one of those time share presentations and in return we got to stay in an enormous 2 bedroom suite in Vegas.  It had two kitchens, three showers, and lots and lots of room.  I can't believe I didn't get a picture of it.  Here are the kids playing on one of the beds while my mom and Tag put a sheet on top of them.  They were having a blast.

As soon as the music started playing Harrison was out on the dance floor.  A circle even formed around him at one point.  Thanks to the Just Dance 2 Wii, this kid has some awesome moves.  The greatest thing was he was not shy in the least.  I couldn't believe what a wild man he was on the dance floor.
