With only 5 weeks left it's time to start refreshing my memory. I have the best doctor, he is going to induce me on October 3rd (9 days early) so that I can make it to my brother-in-law's wedding. There is a lot to remember when you have a baby. Here are some great reminders of the do's and don'ts that I got off of my friend Jessica's blog. Thanks Jess!
Some friends from church invited us to go boating with them on Saturday. Of course Lily loved it and had no fear. Tag went wake boarding for the first time and to no surprise he got up on his first try. He's one of those lucky guys that succeeds at everything he tries to do. I have no doubt that with some practice Tag could be really good at wake boarding. We also enjoyed a fun trip around the reservoir on the tubes. I couldn't let everyone else have all the fun! The girl holding Lily is Bailey, she is Lily's babysitter and the daughter of our friends who took us out. We had a great Saturday afternoon.
Lily loves wearing dresses and loves to get her picture taken. I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again, LILY IS ALL GIRL!!!!
My mom flew out to see James Taylor at Red Rocks with me last week. For those of you who don't know me well, James Taylor is my absolute favorite recording artist ever! In fact, when I was in labor with Lily my mom pulled out her ipod and played James Taylor. We have on video all the doctors dancing and swaying to it. The head doctor even started putting in requests. I've been told by the hospital staff that that was the most fun delivery they have ever had. Anyway, if you've ever been to Red Rocks you know what a hike it is to get there. We had to park down the hill pretty far. Then we had to climb what felt like a thousand stairs (luckily before it started raining). Finally we made it inside and a security guard took pity on me. He sat us in the FRONT ROW and told me a few times during the night that none of the staff wanted to deliver a baby. I can't believe we got to sit in the font row. To make it even better, JT was hanging out right by where we were sitting during the intermission and came out and signed my tickets!!! I am not a big fan of autographs. I think they are kind of silly and there are only a few people on this earth (besides authors and painters) that I would ever want to sign anything. It just so happens that James Taylor is one of the very few people I would ever ask for his autograph and now I have it! It was a great night! Now I can say I saw James Taylor sing Fire & Rain in the rain. I have seen him before in concert, but I was completely blown away by how amazing it is at Red Rocks. If you ever have a chance to see a concert there I highly recommend it. ***I obviously didn't take those pictures, but they are from the concert.
We decided to have Lily's birthday party a little early this year. She'll be 3 in about 2 weeks. For months Lily has been asking for a Minnie Mouse birthday party, so that's what we had. My mom bought her the Minnie Mouse costume to go along with the party. She had a great time. We let her invite a few friends over and they enjoyed making hats, decorating butterfly sandwiches, and hitting the pinata. Lily had a blast and hasn't stopped talking about it. I made those fun cookies again as the party favors. I added a stick to make them look like lollipops. It was a great day!
Lily has recently discovered the Little Mermaid and she loves it!! She now uses a fork for a hair brush :) Such a silly kid! Also, she has decided she wants to get married just like Ariel and wants the same wedding dress except it needs to be pink! Lily is all girl!
